Gustavo Echevarria, student of this year’s graduating class of the John Cranko Schule, won the „Outstanding European Dancer Award“ at the Youth America Grand Prix in New York in April 2012. The prize was awarded by the dance magazine „Dance Europe“.

The Youth America Grand Prix is an international ballet competition for students aged 9 to 19. A total of 5000 students participated in this year’s competition. 300 young talents from 26 different countries were permitted to enter the finals in New York.

Gustavo Echevarria presented one classical and one modern variation and was placed among the twelve best dancers of his age group.

Three students of the John Cranko Schule will travel to Poland in order to participate in the Ballet Gala of the International Dance Day in Bytom on 29th April 2012.

Jiwoo Kwon and Alexander McGowan will dance the classical "Pas de deux romantique". Theophilus Vesely  will show "Todos os ais sao meus" and "Porto que sinto".  

The John Cranko Schule is celebrating its 40th anniversary during this season.
 
On this occasion, an anniversary gala with guests from renowned international ballet schools will take place in the Opera House Stuttgart on 25th November 2011.

Three students of the John Cranko Schule participated in the Festival de Danza in Córdoba.
 
Mariana Layún, Gustavo Echevarria and Pablo von Sternenfels danced classical and contemporary variations at the gala on 1st November 2011.
